The presence of mind

We have the presence of mind to live in dual perspectives and neither takes away from the other...

5 Years and here I am... sort of Okey ... and that being okay doesn't mean I stopped loving him or missing him, but it does mean I've found a level of happiness and beauty in my 'new' life that is farther than it was just a short while ago.
I think noticing that shift and being okay with my growth is part of this process. I think being okay is one of the very best things we can see in our grief. It's okay to be not okay at times. And to be okay doesn't mean you left them behind and forgot their time in your life; it just means you didn't leave yourself behind and you didn't forget you are still here for a reason

Give yourself the gift of coaching - REPOST & UPDATE-

By Elta, March 2, 2010 4:30 pm --Give yourself the gift of coaching

‘Supervision with a Difference’

The PROFACT Network is offering a unique opportunity to coaches, especially those living in or near Pretoria. You will also be introduced to ReciproCoach - with exposure to coach and be coached internationally!

Personal and professional development for coaches

ReciproCoach is an international community of coaches who engage in reciprocal coaching, mentoring and supervision for their own personal and professional development.

By giving coaching and mentoring, ReciproCoaches receive coaching and mentoring, and by participating in supervision, ReciproCoaches give and receive through collaborative learning.

Therefore, as a ReciproCoach, you pay for your coaching, mentoring and supervision by giving it to another coach. As a result, because you're only paying us to orchestrate the reciprocal process, not for the coaching/mentoring/supervision itself, 8 sessions can cost much less than you'd normally pay for one session!

Some people recognize this kind of reciprocal arrangement as bartering, exchange, swaps or contra, a means of bypassing the exchange of money. However, the aim of ReciproCoach is to support coaches' personal development (coaching), skills development (mentoring) and professional development (supervision).

What you may recognize as bartering/exchange/swaps/contra is in fact a highly powerful tool for facilitating collaborative learning for coaches across the globe! Of course, the bonus of this kind of learning is that it also makes coaching, mentoring and supervision for coaches financially accessible.
In so doing, ReciproCoach makes regular and ongoing coaching, mentoring and supervision more accessible for coaches and with that advances the integrity, competency and professionalism of the coaching industry.

Benefits to you:

• Demonstrate integrity (coaching), competency (mentoring) and professionlism (supervision)
• Be part of one of the most active coaching communities in the world

• Be at your edge personally and professionally

• Remove the isolation normally attached to working for yourself

• All the known benefits of coaching, mentoring and supervision

~~~~~~~~~~~
Many coaches are putting a lot of training into coaching skills, and then get discouraged by the business side of running a coaching practice. Not mastering these principles coaches are sometimes unsure how to freely grow both their confidence and their practice.
Besides our coaches’ need to talk about our experiences in our practices, supervision could also afford us an opportunity to reflect upon topics often asked, such as these:
• What can I do to get clients? Who would I call? What would I say? How can I get clients without being pushy?
• Won’t it be weird or uncomfortable coaching my friends and colleagues?
• What if I get stuck during a session?
• How can I be credible when I don’t even have a certification yet?
• Can I really make a living from coaching?
Supervision is a commitment to our own wellbeing, as well as our personal and professional development as a coach, and has the added benefit of protecting our clients, and ourselves, for example from loneliness and potential burnout
Leading these get-togethers, Elta Boshard will start with an introductory session to enable you to find out more about what “Coaching Supervision” is, could be… and is not. You’ll get to know Elta and experience how she works. Elta also runs various monthly supervision groups for those who are interested in making an on-going commitment to growth in terms of professional, spiritual, physical, intellectual and all other intelligences.
Elta invites other coaches and mentors to come on board – to make use of the opportunities for networking with your unique colleagues.
Venue: 29 Lion Road, STERREWAG, MONUMENT PARK.
Your investment in your own growth and development: R180 per Session (Min of 5 persons & Max 8 persons per group)
Numbers will be kept small, so please call Elta: 082 555 7575 for more detail.
Dr Elta Boshard is a certified member (Organizational) of the International TA Association, a member of the International Association of Coaching and has 30 years experience in the Human Service Provider-industry, 20 of these as an Executive Mentor (MHRP--SABPP) and Solution Focused Coach. She has many years of experience of Supervisor in various settings with a variety of modalities. She coaches individuals and groups and supervises other coaches, social workers and trauma counsellors from various NGO’s and other organisations. Her special interest and advanced research in supervision for, and coaching of, survivors of Compassion Fatigue, informed her dissertation (PhD in 2003). Elta is a member of COMENSA.
The Miracle Question
Being coached through a major transition this article resonates! Whilst preparing for tomorrow's session I "stumbled" upon this article - I just have to share it:
"Setting goals and creating change is not easy. Yes, it is fairly simple to write the next day's goals on a "to do" list and sometimes accomplish the majority of them. But, when it comes to achieving a goal that can make a huge difference in our lives, it's often a challenge. I'm speaking of goals like changing a job or pursuing your passion. Your goal could also be dealing with a physical abuse issue, a bullying problem or letting go of a damaging relationship or healing a present one. The list goes on.
Achieve Breakthrough Results with 3 Questions
The reason that these goals are so challenging is that we, by our nature, are over-analytical. Plus, we often create the illusion that we are actually accomplishing something when we are really just procrastinating by worrying, fretting and over-thinking our goal. Then there is fear. "
